we like Lick

watching the sunshine fade to grey as today's storm rolls into town + listening to Pizzicato Five radio which is striking just the right balance.  this wind + weather makes me want to stay inside painting + making other assorted messes.  so it's lucky that's my job.  working on a series of daily paintings + for some reason landscapes are featuring heavily.  not my typical subject matter but I will let it see where it takes me.  I'm always interested in trying something new.

we freely + readily admit to a weakness in the knees when it comes to clean + playful design.  it is particularly great to see an interesting design concept carried out by designers who don't take themselves, or things for that matter, too seriously.  we could all use a little levity.  so next time you are in Brighton, be sure to stop at Lick.  did I mention that they have been nominated for the 2010 Restaurant and Design Awards?  guess we aren't the only ones that love their aesthetic.  I can't wait to go.
